The Role
The purpose of this role is to facilitate training, transfer learning to Operators and Technical teams, to ensure Sandvik drills are optimally operated by the Operators and Technical teams in line with a specific unit standard requirement. This service is rendered to Sandvik Mining clients (internal & external), according to customer requirements and OEM specifications, SETAS, Qualifications authority and SHEQ standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the drilling process to operators.
- Transfer Sandvik drills operational knowledge to operators.
- Train operators on new technologies and upgrades on Sandvik Drills.
- Conduct basic Drills maintenance and set up parameters to ensure optimal capability outputs on XLP, LP, HP & Long holes drills and i-series.
- Conduct Drills performance and applications analysis with recommendations for improvements.
- Lead and manage projects for Sandvik Drills sustainability.
- Record, store, and analyze findings on Sandvik Drills performance and make recommendations where necessary.
- Compile feedback report for each completed task for submission to key stakeholders.
- Liaise with the Factory Specialists for product improvements and updates.
Your Profile
- Trade certificate of competence (Millwright/Electrical/Fitter & Turner/Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic, accompanied by apprenticeship contract or apprenticeship portfolio of evidence).
- Assessor and Moderator certificates.
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant industry experience.
- In-depth understanding of drilling equipment and techniques.
- Ability to teach and mentor operators, ensuring knowledge transfer and skills development.
- Strong focus on promoting and ensuring safe working practices.
- Subject matter expert on Sandvik products.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Must be medically fit to operate in an underground environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
Notice Period
Notice period on all positions is 20 working days from date of resignation, unless otherwise agreed to by managers.
