JOB OVERVIEW:
In the role of Data Analyst, the successful candidate will leverage retail, customer, and marketing data to produce valuable insights, enhance marketing campaigns, and support strategic decision-making. The successful candidate's work will be key in advancing data-driven initiatives within the client's extensive retail environment.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Insights & Analysis: Create reports and interactive dashboards, perform descriptive analysis on retail and customer behaviours, and assess the effectiveness of different projects and initiatives.
- System & Project Delivery: Oversee the implementation of system enhancements and contribute to predictive and prescriptive modelling projects.
- Strategic Recommendations: Apply your analytical expertise to uncover opportunities, provide recommendations for future initiatives, and drive improved business results.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Technical Skills:
- Big Query SQL, Python, or R.
- Above average computer literacy (MS Office, Excel (Advanced), Google Workspace.)
- Data visualisation tools (e.g. Data Studio, Tableau, Power BI.)
- Knowledge of statistics and data modelling.
- Knowledge of Data cleaning and enrichment.
- Knowledge and understanding of POPIA.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Degree in Business focusing on Analytical or Commercial subjects (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering.)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At least five years of experience as an analyst, ideally within a marketing or digital agency environment, specialising in delivering customer insights to influence customer behaviour.
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
- Experience in the retail sector is a plus.
