A UK accounting firm is looking for aTax Compliance Officer to join their team inCape Town . You will be a member of an established team focusing on providing VAT services to a variety of industry sectors. You will need to be a self-starter, able to work independently in carrying out reviews and to manage a portfolio, client facing, show willingness to work as part of a team and be able to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities :
- Overseeing a portfolio of clients for compliance matters.
- Preparing VAT returns and registration/de-registration forms for clients, while also reviewing compliance tasks completed by colleagues.
- Communicating with HMRC regarding any queries related to our compliance activities.
- Conducting VAT reviews as part of our auditing process.
- Delivering high-quality work and adhering to deadlines.
- Demonstrating strong client service skills, the ability to work independently, collaborate in a team, and negotiate effectively.
- Possessing excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Between 4 and 6 years of total experience
- UK VAT experience is advantageous
- Previous experience of a professional services environment and dealing with HMRC would be an advantage
- Previous experience of managing a portfolio of clients would be an advantage
- Experience of providing VAT compliance work is required
- Occasional advisory work required
- Microsoft Office experience required (particularly Excel)
Salary :
- Between R42 000 and R54 000 CTC per month (depending on experience and qualifications)
