Role Description:
- Manage a value stream of products and services to deliver the required functionality and value.
- Act as a key point of contact and engage with various stakeholders to ensure their expectations are met. This involves understanding stakeholder needs and requirements, providing regular updates, and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Provide support in designing processes and strategies for moving analytics close to the business and to position the Shoprite Analytics brand as a strategic enabler for the business.
- Work with the relevant cross functional teams to establish the solution roadmap that meets the business needs, drive continuous exploration to define the benefit hypotheses, processes and solution intent.
- Guide cross functional teams to plan, forecast and market the solution at each stage of the delivery lifecycle.
- Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure that feature breakdown is done effectively.
- Contribute as subject matter expert on BI solutions to drive business objectives.
- Represent the value stream in ART level events; ART syncs, inspect and adapt, PI planning, demos and continuous exploration reviews.
- Determine and track the profitability of BI products and services to assess their value-add to the business.
- Drive ongoing and open communication with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Serve as key integration point for cross functional teams working on BI solutions.
- Work together with cross functional teams to gather resources to form ‘delivery squads’. Assess the skills, availability, and workload of each team member and allocate them appropriately to different deliverables. This involves understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each team member and aligning them with requirements.
- Focus on value by monitoring adoption and other KPIs to define the impact of data BI initiatives. Includes identifying and leading efforts to analyse results and continuously improve performance.
- Understand changing market trends to apply strategies and roadmaps that deliver added value to the business.
- Generate new ideas, research and analyse for feasibility and business impact.
- Provide integrated reporting and feedback.
- Foster a collaborative culture within the team, encouraging effective communication, knowledge sharing, and teamwork. Facilitate coordination among team members, hold regular team meetings, and promote a positive working environment.
- Streamlined Development – Optimise the product lifecycle, ensuring faster time-to-market for new features and more efficient iteration cycles.
- Reducing Wasted Efforts- Identify underperforming products or services, allowing the business to pivot or discontinue them, reducing wasted investment and effort.
- Unlock Cross-Functional Synergies- ensure that cross functional teams such as engineering and platforms are aligned on product goals, improving collaboration and accelerating product delivery.
- Measurable Solution Success and Impact- implement KPIs to measure delivery and performance of BI solutions, focus on continuous improvement and accountability. Enable the business to prolong the success of its BI products and services through timely updates and adjustments to maximise the value over time.
- Service Delivery- strive for a seamless user experience of BI products and services, this includes working with cross functional teams to make sure that accuracy and completeness is maintained and that any incidents are resolved within the SLA set.
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Business, IT, Data Science, Engineering, Marketing or another relevant field – (essential).
- +6 years’ experience in a similar role, with proven success launching new solutions and complex features and translating business strategy and analysis into successful solutions – (essential).
- Experience leading an agile team – (essential).
- Experience collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex solutions – (essential).
- Depth of understanding and experience with analytics and big data – (essential).
- Knowledge of legal compliance (POPIA, Electronic Information Act, etc.) – (essential).
- General marketing or retail experience – (desired).
