Our Client, a Private Medical Facility situated in KwaZulu Natal, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (Psych) to join their team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our patients across various departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate mental health status and identify needs.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping mechanisms.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification in Psychiatric Nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a psychiatric setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Commitment to professional development and continuing education.
