Description
Managed Talent Solutions, a division within Datacentrix, is looking for X10 IT Infrastructure Systems Administrators for one of their clients based in Centurion. This is a month contract. The Systems Administrators will be required to do maintenance, management, and support of the company's data centre infrastructure.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Matric plus Diploma in Information Technology or related field
- Certifications: MCSA, MCSE or MCSD
- Certification: MCITP Enterprise Administrator (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) on Windows Server
- Certification: VMWare Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV)
- Certification: MCDBA
- Software Patch management, uptime monitoring, and top-tier support
- Extensive knowledge and experience on virtualization technologies (VMWare and Hyper-V)
- Networking skills, configuration of switches, IP ranges, and VLANs (VPN, Cisco routers, Satellite networks, Switches, VLANs, VOIP, etc.)
- Skills and experience in data-center hardware and software support and installation
- Good knowledge of backup solutions (e.g. Veritas NetBackup, Enterprise Vault, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage processes as part of a systems administration team and be responsible for selected processes in the data-center
- System administration skills required will create a balanced team combination with cross-functional skills and experience to be able to support the following systems and components in the data-center:
- SCCM
- SCOM
- VMWare
- Active Directory and DNS
- Back-ups and archiving
- Veritas
- Storage including a storage area network (SAN)
- Symantec antivirus
- Patch management (Ivanti)
- Server management (Microsoft Windows)
- Server hardware and software support;
- Provide support to provincial and municipal offices;
- Manages and monitors anti-virus products across the organisation;
- Manages and monitors patch management across the organisation;
- Resolves third-level support problems;
- Maintains 99.999% uptime of data-centre operations;
- Server maintenance and monitoring including knowledge of SCOM;
- Monitors and maintains the load balanced internet information servers (IIS);
- Is responsible for the overall infrastructure architecture, including compliance with the company’s enterprise information architecture;
- Knowledge of security Firewalls;
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (Forefront TMG), formerly known as Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA Server)
- Knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies, with special focus on VMware;
- Coordinate and support team members of systems administrators;
- Reviews change requests for completeness and analyses, prioritises, categorises, approves, and schedules change requests;
- Monitors the successful completion of all change requests, including change planning, building, testing, and implementation to ensure that these processes follow the change schedule;
- Reviews and evaluates the change process;
- Manages and monitors data storage using storage area network (SAN) technologies;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Clustering services
- Manages the VMWare environment;
- Schedule and perform maintenance of systems;
- Provisioning of datacenter infrastructure;
- Evaluates new technologies and prepares documentation
