An opportunity has become available for a confident, energetic and resilient Merchandise Planner for Cape Union Mart Leisure Footwear. The candidate must be able to think laterally and have strong analytical, logical reasoning and numerical abilities.

In addition, the successful candidate should have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.
Duties:
- Achieve turnover, gross profit and stockturn budgets and related KPI’s
- Deliver and implement post seasonal analysis, strategic planning, range & assortment planning
- Accurately and continuously budgeting and forecasting in order to achieve sales plan and maximize profitability
- Accurately and continuously forecasting inflows to achieve sales plans, departmental growth and profitability
- Executing and managing project plans to achieve the agreed objectives
- Supporting and guiding team members with regards to efficient administration as well as the accurate allocation of stock to ensure that the right stock gets to the right store by the right time
- Prioritise online and omni-channel stock levels
- Liaising with stores, suppliers, customers, shipping and marketing
- Use KPI’s to drive buying and marketing decisions
- Efficient management of aged and dead stock
Requirements :
- Minimum 2 years working experience as a Retail/Merchandise/Product Planner, in a portfolio dealing with size complexity
- Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification
- Advanced excel experience is essential
- Experience with merchandise planning and reporting systems
- Experience using automated replenishment systems
