Our client, a nationwide firm of Chartered Accountants & Auditors, seeks your senior accounting experience to prepare and maintain a checklist of all clients under your portfolio, with services to be performed for each client.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Person: - B.Com Degree or Accounting Diploma.
- SAICA/SAIPA Articles a definite advantage.
- Min 3 to 4 years bookkeeping experience in an Accounting Firm.
The Job: Reporting to the Partner:
- Client management, visit clients premises and troubleshoot.
- Prepare and review monthly management reports for clients.
- Supervise and review work of Junior Bookkeepers, ensuring that the clients' accounts are reconciled timeously (monthly) and accurately.
- Month end and year end journal entries and reconciliations.
- Update accounting records from source documents.
- Review trial balances and general ledger to identify misallocations and inconsistent accounting treatment.
- Create and set up a new general ledger file, with chart of accounts.
- Reconcile payroll on a monthly basis.
- Prepare EMP201's, EMP501's, and Workmen's Compensation calculations.
- Review/prepare monthly VAT201's.
- Prepare accounting records from source documents to final reconciled trial balance.
- Facilitate monthly meetings between client and Partners if required by client.
- Research and pass on information from applicable legislation, good practice, and interpretation notes to Bookkeepers/Partners.
- Identify areas for training and communicate with Supervisor, assist in preparing training material, coordinate and facilitate training.
- Assist in the billing of monthly jobs in conjunction with Supervisor/Partner.
- Give on-the-job training to Junior & Intermediate Accounts, with professional and technical skills.
- Ensure all client deliverables are met.
Competencies and Skills Required: - Meeting monthly and annual client fee budgets.
- Advanced Excel/Word / Xero/Sage online / Pastel / Quickbooks / GreatSoft Accounting.
- SARS e-Filing.
- In-depth knowledge of general accounting bookkeeping theories and practices.
- Ability to multitask and work against short deadlines.
- Exemplary personal integrity and respect for confidentiality.
- Self-motivated and proactive individual.
- Ability to work with minimum direction, using own initiative in assessing priorities.

Package & Remuneration
R300 000.00 per annum (cost to company)
