Our client, a long-standing National manufacturing company, seeks a qualified Quality Specialist to report to the Technical Manager and manage the Quality department.
Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of the Role:
- Ensure that all products and processes are in accordance with Quality Standards and Customer Specific Requirements.
- Monitor and control Quality Systems and processes.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- National Diploma Quality Management or Engineering.
- Trained Auditor ISO 9001;2015; IATF 16949:2016 & VDA 6.3:2016.
- Min. 5 years experience in a Quality position, within Automotive/Manufacturing.
Skills:
- Demonstrate an understanding of ISO/IATF and OEM Standards and problem-solving technique.
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Key Performance Areas:
Quality Management:
- Conduct Quality investigations.
- Maintain IATF 16949:2016 Certification.
Quality Control:
- Investigate all Quality non-conformances and track corrective actions.
- Make decisions on quarantined products (Pass, Reject or Rework).
- Manage and maintain the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements contained in IATF 16949:2016 and VDA 6.3.
- Achieve Quality Assurance operational objectives by:
- contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews;
- preparing and completing action plans;
- implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;
- identifying and resolving problems;
- completing audits;
- determining system improvements and implementing change.
- Support the Quality Production Inspectors to make product related decisions.
- Review, update and approve Flow Charts, Control Plans and FMEA’s.
- Facilitate Measurement System Analysis and Capability Studies on all measuring equipment.
- Maintain and improve product Quality by completing product, process, system, compliance and surveillance audits.
- Compile monthly Management Quality reports.
- Compile weekly yields reports.
- Maintain the Quality Assurance system.
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP):
- Review Quality risks of APQP activities.
- Complete Production Part approval process.
- Provide input to the Contract review process.
Audits:
- Conduct internal 1st party process audits:
- VDA 6.3:2016;
- System audits (IATF);
- supplier audits;
- product/dock audits.
Customer Relations (External and Internal):
- Interact with internal and external customers regarding quality issues.
- Investigate internal production, project and customer laboratory test failures.
