We are actively seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in the critical role of Product Development Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the future of our product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- New product introductions and Technical Standards
- Plan, implement, and control New Product Introductions, ensuring seamless processes from justification to customer release.
- Establish and uphold Technical Standards for filtration, tooling, design, and manufacture.
- Manage the company's product data, engineering change processes, and APQP systems.
- Oversee products including New Technology Filters and Existing Technology Oil, Fuel, Engine Air, and Cabin Air Filters.
- Adapt to changing product needs as per company requirements.
- Lead cross-functional teams in analyzing potential new products, defining accurate product requirements.
- Efficiently guide the development and introduction of new products within targeted time and cost.
- Ensure controlled and well-reviewed introductions, adhering to IATF 16949 and APQP principles.
Design and Innovation - Stay abreast of filter design innovations, raw materials, and production processes.
- Utilize and update Design Guides, DFMEAs, and Technical Standards in line with industry advances.
- Design for manufacture, evaluate raw materials, and ensure product designs meet customer requirements.
Data Integrity /ECR - Manage engineering changes, giving attention to run-in/run-out procedures.
- Ensure accurate approval, assignment, and release of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
- Monitor ECR progress and uphold technical standards and data integrity.
Project Management - Initiate, lead, and participate in cross-functional teams for specific projects and innovations.
- Develop project plans, ensuring effective implementation within agreed cost parameters.
- Meet internal SOP and approval requirements for all projects.
Technical Support - Provide technical support on supplier development, manufacturing concerns, and QA initiatives.
- Assist Procurement & Logistics with material development and alternate suppliers.
- Offer continuous information on factors affecting product design and engineering services.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience in the automotive engineering field OR
- B.Tech diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience in the automotive engineering field OR
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience in the automotive engineering field.
- Computer Literacy: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, JDE E1.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, IATF16949, 8D, MSA, SPC.
- Proficiency in core tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP.
