Client based in JHB North seeks the services of a Finance Manager to assume overall responsibility for the financial affairs of the three legal entities. The Finance Manager will oversee the financial management and related matters to ensure financial soundness in order to achieve the overall objective of building sustainable suppliers in the South African supply chain.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Liaison with key stakeholders including the Trustees, Directors, independent auditors, accounting services provider, fund manager, supply chain team, and company secretary.
- Coordinating transactions relating to drawn downs, repayments, and interest related to loans advanced and received.
- Managing dividends, distributions to beneficiaries, and payments to service providers.
- Overseeing the preparation and review of audited financial statements, monthly management accounts, and regulatory filings.
- Preparation of budgets, loan schedules, and reviewing financial performance.
- Implementing good corporate governance through legal agreements and compliance with trust deeds and memoranda of incorporation.
- Overseeing the preparation of tax returns.
- Assisting in the development and execution of enterprise and supplier development programmes to maximize enterprise and supplier development points for BBBEE Codes of Good Practice.
- Initiating transactions required by Investment Trust, Development Trust, and Enterprise Development (Pty) Ltd, including declaration and payment of dividends, distributions to beneficiaries, drawn down and repayment of loans, and processing interest income/expense with an external accounting services provider.
- Performing yearly valuations.
- Responsibility for the execution of BBBEE Ownership Audits.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college/ CA (SA) qualification (Advantageous) or equivalent knowledge or experience.
- Minimum of 5 years professional work experience, preferably in a similar type of business activity.
- Good commercial acumen, business sense, sound decision-making skills, and the ability to understand and interpret legal agreements (including multiple loan agreements, agreements with service providers, trust deeds, and memoranda of incorporation).
