Our client, market leader in the FMCG / Logistics sector is looking to hire an experienced and driven Human Resources Manager , based in Durban
The successful candidate will be required to take the HR Division to the next level, lead their Human Resources initiatives and contribute to the success of the organisation
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management of HR Team : Oversee the HR team, including HR Officer, Payroll Administrator, and HR Administrator
- Company Culture : Evaluate the current company culture and collaborate with senior management to propose and implement improvements aimed at enhancing employee satisfaction
- Employee Relations : Foster positive employee relations by addressing inquiries, concerns, and conflicts. Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related issues. Conduct investigations and resolve employee matters appropriately
- HR Policy and Development : Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs. Review current policies to identify opportunities for further development
- Performance Management : Support the performance management process by coordinating appraisals, goal setting, and feedback sessions. Assist in implementing performance improvement plans and employee development programs
- Training and Development : Communicate training and development opportunities to the executive team. Develop a strategy and work with the HR Officer to implement initiatives that maximize employee benefits
- Compliance : Stay informed on current labour laws and ensure the organization remains compliant. Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions
- Compensation and Benefits : Manage employee compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews, incentives, and benefits enrolment. Oversee payroll processing for accuracy
- HR Reporting : Prepare reports and analyse key HR metrics such as turnover, recruitment, training, and performance. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for decision-making
- Industrial Relations (IR) : Manage disputes between employees and the employer, ensuring swift resolution. Represent the organization at CCMA hearings when necessary
- Visas : Ensure expatriate staff have correct visas and assist with the application process. Develop a monitoring system to track visa status and ensure timely renewals
- Employment Equity and BBBEE : Ensure compliance with the Employment Equity Act and develop a strategy for BBBEE compliance to present to the executive team
- HR Intranet Development : Review and enhance the HR section of the company intranet, including internal job postings and newsfeed protocols
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, O rganizational Behaviour, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
- Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar role with a track record of successful HR Management (5 – 8 years)
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of South African labour laws, regulations and HR best practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of labour legislation, including employment contracts, employee leave and insurance
- Empathetic and caring nature with excellent people skills
- Market related and dependant on experience
