Business Analyst Job Description
The business analyst will be responsible for compiling the approach (strategy document and business case) for our core system upgrade project. You will be required to perform detailed requirement analysis, documenting processes, as well as performing a gap analysis between existing and new functionality. You will define the detailed requirements for system implementation resulting from the gap analysis performed. You will work alongside other business analysts and report directly to the Business Solutions Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Process and data mapping
- Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements
- Gap analysis between current and new versions of the system
- Fully involved in the Software Development Life Cycle (agile and hybrid) and project delivery
- Full range of business requirements analysis and definition (including but not limited to functional, non-functional, and data requirements)
- Testing
Person Specification
Very good understanding of the end-to-end administration processes and systems that support these.
At least 8 years’ direct experience in Unit Trust and LISP (Discretionary and Life and Retirement Products) administration with in-depth knowledge of the products, legislative reporting, and operational processes that support the administration of these products.
At least 5 years’ experience in a senior BA role with proven experience in Business Case definition, process and business analysis on medium to large projects.
Proven ability to abstract detail into models.
Strong understanding of project implementation necessities.
Proven track record of driving and implementing improvements.
Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Software and Systems Knowledge
- Experience with the full Microsoft Office suite, including Advanced Excel and Visio or equivalent.
- Flexcube (full front and back-end user experience) essential.
- SQL experience.
- Workflow application.
- Digiata.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Relevant tertiary qualification.
At least an Advanced Business analysis certification.
