The role:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Strategic Field Operations to lead and execute our global field agent strategy for our Open Commerce eB2B marketplace platform, primarily focused on emerging markets in Africa and LatAm. This role is crucial in driving the adoption of our app among FMCG retailers through the effective management of our Field Activation Officers (FAOs). You will be responsible for enhancing productivity, optimizing performance management, and designing career paths for our global field teams. Additionally, you will leverage in-house tools to ensure the success of our field operations and drive digital adoption at scale.
Responsibilities:
- GTM Strategy Development & Execution: Develop and implement a global field ops strategy for emerging markets, managing FAO deployment and realignment based on customer acquisition and market feedback.
- Productivity Optimization & Market Intelligence: Use the RedTAG app to monitor FAO productivity, gather real-time market insights, and inform strategic decisions for field ops adjustments.
- Performance Management: Manage FAO performance through a Relative Scorecard system, adjusting metrics based on market conditions and business objectives.
- P&L Management & Cost Optimization: Oversee FAO budgeting, resource allocation, and cost optimization, ensuring decisions maximize ROI and minimize costs.
- Career Pathing & Talent Development: Implement career development programs for FAOs, promoting continuous learning and talent retention.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regional leaders to align strategies and address market-specific challenges.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in go to market strategy, sales management, or field operations, with a focus on emerging markets like Africa and LatAm.
- Proven track record in driving digital adoption through field engagement and managing large-scale P&L, budgeting, and cost optimization.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and team management skills, with expertise in talent development and performance management.
- Proficient in data and analytics tools (e.g., SFAs, CRMs) to monitor productivity and drive operational efficiency.
- Results-driven, culturally adaptable, and financially savvy with a focus on business growth and resource management.
