PURPOSE:
To manage Contractor Construction Supervisors for a project or area within a project, controlling all contractor activities via a Multi-Disciplinary team for the construction execution of the project on site. Interfacing to the relevant Engineering, PCO, SHE, Procurement, Risk and Project Management functions as required and according to the relevant PEP and Procedures

Job Requirements
2.1 Qualifications:
- N Dip: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering ( Essential/Minimum )
- Trade: Artisan(Relevant) MQA/QCTO Accredited ( Essential/Minimum )

Job Outputs / Tasks
The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:
Administration and Support Services
• Updating of procedures, chapters and other relevant documentation to ensure project execution growth and improvement to a better maturity
level
• Inputs are given to the month report Commercial Management
• Be involved with tender evaluations and scoring of contractors
• Prompting of Contract Managers to write the correct letters to contractors on Performance according to contract GC terms

Commissioning
• Construction complete documentation generated per discipline
• Construction executed in accordance with the commissioning sequence

Contractor Management
• Ensure well co-ordinated construction implementation using integration meetings, scheduling and commercial conditions of contract
with a strong focus on LTIFR and TRIR
• Excellent Engineering team liaison to reduce TQNs
• Close out procedure driven from day one
• Engineering Integrity sign offs Follow the PEP chapter
• Ensuring contractor schedules are received frequently and with the correct detail to monitor progress
• Interfacing with the Contracts manager to generate the relevant commercial letter
• Continuous review of the construction schedule to ensure the correct construction sequence
• Review of contractor equipment placement for smooth flowing construction
• Redline Drawings are managed and correctly marked up and verified

Cost Management
• Assist Contract Managers to stay within BOQ limits and limit Site
Instruction
• Maintaining clear commercial lines and visibility
• Drawing revisions are re-measured by the QS

Document Control and Quality Management
• Work with the Quality Manager to deliver a best quality product for the timeline and life span of the project
• Document control of all relevant documents

Effective People Management
• All normal line manager functions
• Performance Management contracts for the team

Employee Relations
• Close liaison with the ER/IR manager to ensure smooth contractor workforce relations
• Development of response to strikes and labour disruptions

Risk Management and Control
• Assist in identifying risks and putting them on the risk register
• Development of mitigation plans and the implementation thereof to remove the risk

Safe and Healthy Work Environment
• High focus on daily SHE inspections
• Monthly audits on every contractor
• Hours management of own and contractor teams
• Legal appointments in place per contractor and own team

Specialised Support
• Checking of equipment arriving on site
• Verification of installation MCC’s, Lighting, DBs and field isolators
• Isolation integrity checks on relevant cable installations
• Protection setting programming
• Permitting for electrical switching
• Transformer installations with MV Switchgear points
• Interface management between brownfields client equipment
• Cable racking installations
• Overall Electrical construction management in line with the project scope
