My client is looking for Accountant/Tax Practitioner in Table View, Cape Town - must already work in an accounting firm environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in tax and accounting, particularly in completing income tax returns, evaluating assessments, and managing various tax-related tasks. This role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and SARS consultants.Â
Key Responsibilities:Â - Experience in completing Income Tax Returns, Evaluating AssessmentsÂ
- Corresponding with SARS ConsultantsÂ
- Must understand SARS procedures and abide by these deadlinesÂ
- Knowledge of Income Tax Act and Tax Administration ActÂ
- Must have problem solving skills, client communication skillsÂ
- Assist with SARS and General Tax QueriesÂ
- Assist with Ad hoc tax tasks.Â
- Must be able to work under pressure with deadlines in a fast-paced environment and still provide excellent quality workÂ
- Work in support of other members of the departmentÂ
- Liaising with clients as requiredÂ
- Submission of Trust, Individual and Company Income Tax ReturnsÂ
- Sorting out errors on Tax ReturnsÂ
- Dealing with Refund matters (Queries)Â
- Assist and check of with Annual financial statements and check up on assistant accountantÂ
- Managing Tax Return queries with SARSÂ
- Attending meetings with SARSÂ
- Provisional Tax Calculations & SubmissionsÂ
- Tax clearance certificates & Foreign Investment Tax ClearanceÂ
- Request for suspension of payments/appealsÂ
- Tax compliance with SARS and payment processÂ
- Handle mail, calls, and appointments with SARS AgentsÂ
- Experience in tax and accounting environmentÂ

Qualifications and Experience:Â - Must have working experience in a similar position within a tax and accounting environment is essential.Â
- A degree in Accounting, Tax, or equivalent qualification compulsory.Â
- Registered tax practitioner â A MUST.Â
- Strong understanding of the Income Tax Act and Tax Administration Act.Â
- Excellent problem-solving skills, client communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Â
- Fluent in both English and Afrikaans (reading, writing and speaking)
