Purpose of the job:
Lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards, having full accountability for ensuring safety, customer quality and that cost and delivery requirements are met.
Key Performance Areas Strategy:
• Assist with developing the plant medium to long term Manufacturing Strategy and operational plans
• Align plant Manufacturing Strategy to the overall business strategy
Production:
• Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications ensuring the target productivity level is achieved on a daily basis.
• Communicate and liaise with other departmental managers regarding throughput of stock to ensure production targets are met
• Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness by appropriate data analyses
• Analyse production plans
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing related problems and sub-standard performance
Quality:
• Drive Quality Empowerment into Manufacturing.
• Maintain IATF Certification
Project Management:
• Project Management of run in, run out of models/business projects
• Ensuring plant readiness for implementation of new business project
• Provide feedback and guidance at CI meetings
• Implement new equipment/technology/processes in accordance with the Manufacturing Strategic Plan
Maintenance Management
• Ensure operational efficiency of electrical equipment and mechanical systems
Safety, Health and Environmental:
• Drive continuous 5’s improvements, utilizing Gemba walks to define and implement remedial and improvement actions
• Identify potential hazards and critical safety issues in the workplace
• Address workplace hazards and risk
People Management:
• Ensure an enabling climate/culture.
• Assess training and development needs
• Effectively manage individuals and teams
• Ensure a safe, secure and legal working environment.
• Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels

Minimum Requirements:
Engineering Degree
Experience:
At least 6 years’ experience in the automotive industry in a similar role
