Overview: To plan, organize and control the activities in Production departments: Extrusion, Printing, Lamination, Slitting, Conversion.
Key Professional Competencies:
- Tertiary qualification in packaging engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, manufacturing management, production or operation management)
- OR extensive experience in the relevant industries
- Minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in Flexible Packaging and/or Extrusion Industries
- Ability to manage multiple production processes simultaneously, and to utilize resources effectively and efficiently in a deadline orientated environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate, and proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and related software programs
Responsibilities:
- Leads, encourage and motivate the personnel in his/her sphere of responsibility
- Develop and implement a Production strategy to drive down costs and improve overall efficiencies in line with WCM (World Class Manufacturing Practices) requirements:
- Takes the ownership of continuous improvement of the production departments
- Improve overall efficiency of the production departments
- Ensure that an effective maintenance plan is adhered to and matured
- Successfully motivate and implementation of projects within budget
- Reconcile production material usage and account for waste, as well as to put in place proactive measures to reduce waste produced within the production departments
- Application of good Manufacturing Practices
- Responsible for safety included in the ISO 9001 & BRC systems
- Reduce customer complaints due to production inefficiencies
- Effective production planning and scheduling
- Comply with Safety, Health, Environment and Risk standards
- Manage and ensure low staff turnover & absenteeism
- Team goals and core values communicated and owned by team members
