International SOS' Assistance Centre based in the Philippines is looking for nurses to join their team of co-ordinating doctors and nurses to provide professional, effective medical assistance services to patients and clients internationally.

Below are some of the key responsibilities to be taken into consideration prior to applying (to note that full training is provided and therefore, an excellent career development plan can be personally achieved!)
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and assess medically related calls from patients/clients on and offshore
- Collect logistical, medical and collateral histories pertaining to the medical event in order to give case direction and as part of a medical due diligence
- Provide telephone medical assessment and consultation to patients, medical teams, clients in all parts of the world including on commercial maritime vessels and offshore
- Medically risk assess, advise and monitor the appropriateness of the treatment
- Organise and supervise appropriate medical assistance for clients. This includes obtaining medical reports, organising referrals, monitoring the patient's conditions, recommending appropriate means of medical transportation and monitoring the progress of such.
- Ensure that all cases are managed with an understanding of occupational health and safety concepts including lost time injuries, days of work, restricted work duties, reporting and recording as well as classification for first aid and medical treatment cases.
- Understand the role of Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centres (MRCC) in commercial maritime cases, and how to provide medical information to the MRCC when required.
- Ensure appropriate reporting of cases within the set OSHA and IASC guidelines
- Collect medical and case information from the client as necessary to support their OH injury/illness recording process
- Provide medical assessments of patients at client sites internationally using telephone or telemedicine systems as available to assess and monitor the patient
- Safely maximise the use of non-prescription drugs and first aid treatment when medical treatment intervention is unnecessary
- Visit/medically escort patients/clients in hospitals when required
- Ensure comprehensive handovers to incoming coordinating doctors to ensure case continuity

Criteria to apply:
- Full current registration to practice medicine/nursing in the Philippines
- Minimum of 5 years post-grad clinical medical experience
- Hold a valid BLS/ACLS certification (or be prepared to obtain prior should you be offered a position)
- Emergency or ICU medical background is preferred but not mandatory
- Family and Internal Medicine experience will be considered
- Occupational Medicine experience highly desirable but not mandatory
- Maritime/Aviation/Remote/Assistance Medicine experience desirable but not mandatory
- Excellent written and oral communication in Filipino and English
