Our client, a global manufacturing company, situated on KZN's North Coast, has an exciting 1 year fixed term contract in their Projects team. Reporting to the Projects Control Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to develop an integrated cost management plan and system for the Project, taking into account Engineering requirements and incorporating all stakeholders to ensure cost efficiency in line with industry norms and work execution.
Duties & Responsibilities
- B.Sc (Hons) Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- SA Council of the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) registration.
- SA Council for the Projects and Construction Management Profession (SACPCMP) registration.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) with PMI (Project Management Institute) or equivalent a strong advantage.
- Min. 5 years experience in Project Management & Quantity Surveying.
- Min. 5 years experience in a Senior or Specialist role.
- Experience working with SAP, MS Projects, Primavera P6 or other Project Management software and strong advantage.
- Supervisory experience an advantage.

Key Performance Areas: - Ensure compliance to SHEQ systems, standards, and legislative requirements for annual shuts.
- Deliver the project outcomes on time, in cost budget and with agreed quality requirements by working cross-functionally across all the project disciplines.
- Manage project cost and risks.
- Drive cost reduction.
- Ensure costs reflect scope & verify contractor rates with industry established norms; considering vendor inputs, site instructions, claim forecasts, tariff increases and volume increases.
- Work with Procurement to select the best contracting strategy for each job to minimise cost and maximise productivity.
- Draft, analyse, and evaluate Bill of Quantity or Pricing Schedule for tenders.
- Participate in tender evaluations and ensure that the best contractors are selected in conjunction with the Project team and in line with Procurement practice.
- Assist with preparation of cost reports per contractor.
- Apply PMBok best practices.
- Lead and develop a team.
Package & Remuneration
R1 million per annum (cost to company) - negotiable.
