Junior HR Manager
My client, a specialized logistics company which operates a fleet of 80 food grade tankers for the transportation of mainly wine, plant oils and fruit concentrate, is currently recruiting for a Junior HR Manager for their depot in Brackenfell. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director.
Duties & Responsibilities
RECRUITMENT OF OFFICE STAFF
- Compile advert and get approval
- Put advert on job portals
- Screen CVs and compile short list
- Conduct interviews
- Perform reference checks
- Send offer
HR ADMINISTRATION & NBCFRLI ADMINISTRATION
- Manage office staff and drivers contracts
- Compile and maintain employee files
- Provide HR information for monthly reporting
- Compile and maintain Job Descriptions
- Submit monthly D-form to National Bargaining Council of Road Freight and Logistics (NBCFRLI)
- Manage payment of Union membership fees
- Prepare year-end bonus submissions at NBCFRLI
- Compile Certificate of Service and other exit documentation to employees upon termination of services
- Ensure compliance with Collective Agreement of NBCFRLI
- Take full responsibility for NBCFRLI audits annually
SKILLS & TRAINING
- Compile training needs analysis annually
- Compile budget and get approval
- Arrange training with external providers
- Keep record of all training records
- Submit Annual Training Report and Workplace Skills Plan at TETA
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
- Advise Line Managers regarding disciplinary actions
- Compile Notice to Hearings together with complainant
- Arrange external Chairman for hearing
- Communicate and keep record of hearing outcomes
- Implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment
EMPLOYMENT EQUITY
- Submit Employment equity reports annually
PAYROLL
- Keep track of all employee records
- Oversee payroll process monthly
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
- Develop and implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to employees
- Identify performance issues and develop improvement plans in collaboration with managers
EMPLOYEE WELLNESS & COMMUNICATION
- Facilitate communication between management and employees regarding company policies, procedures, and wellness initiatives
- Organize employee birthdays and functions
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology
- Previous experience in a transport environment
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar position
- Experience with dealing with the NBRFRLI will be advantageous
- Willingness to work closely with the Operations team
- Hands-on
- Detail-oriented
- Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
- Ability to work with drivers and communicate effectively with them
