JOB PURPOSE
The core purpose of the role is to assume responsibility for keeping the buildings in a clean, hygienic, and orderly condition, and assisting with administrative tasks as required.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Cleaning.
- Administration.
- Warehouse Assistance.
- SHEQ Integrated Management System control.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
CLEANING
- Perform cleaning duties on a regular basis, as per cleaning schedule.
- Sweeping and washing floors daily.
- Vacuum carpeted areas on a weekly basis.
- Cleaning and stocking canteen and kitchen areas on a regular basis, to ensure a hygienic and clean area.
- Washing dishes daily.
- Ensure all appliances in the canteen and kitchen areas are always kept clean and hygienic (fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and other)
- Cleaning and stocking restrooms daily.
- Washing walls, glass, and doorways on a weekly basis.
- Cleaning of desk spaces daily.
- Removing rubbish from all work areas daily.
- Clean and dust furniture, ledges, light fixtures, and other hard to reach places on a regular basis.
- Ensure the front office area is always clean and tidy.
- Inform the Branch Manager, or responsible employee, of anything that is broken or not functioning correctly so that the issue is resolved promptly.
- Ensure all work areas are kept neat, tidy, and hygienic always.
- Ensure that the cleaning equipment are kept in a safe working condition.
- ADMINISTRATION
- Maintain a record of all office supplies and ensure stock requirements are communicated to the admin department for re-ordering.
- Keep inventory of stock.

- Complete general administration duties as required by the needs of the branch.
- Filing.
- Archiving of historic documents.
- Accurate and prompt completion of all relevant cleaning checklists upon completion of the work area.
- Data capturing.
- Identify cost saving opportunities and implement cost reduction principles and procedures.
- Arrange refreshments for guests, meetings etc.
- WAREHOUSE ASSISTANCE
- Assist in the warehouse as may be required by the operational needs of the company.
- SHEQ INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CONTROL
- Ensure adherence to the OHS Act.
- Ensure the Branch maintains and complies with standards of health and safety, and hygiene always.
- Always maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Ensure PPE is always worn in the warehouse.
- Ensure all work areas are always clean.
Requirements
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
- QUALIFICATIONS
- EXPERIENCE
- 1 years’ experience in a similar position.
- KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Familiarity to operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners etc.
- A thorough practical knowledge of best practices in housekeeping processes, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Awareness and understanding of the ISO Standard requirements relevant to the position.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Highly motivated and able to work independently, with the capacity to identify and resolve issues related to cleaning or administrative tasks independently.
- Time management skill, with the ability to efficiently plan and prioritize cleaning tasks to ensure all areas are adequately cleaned within designated timeframes.
- Being thorough and meticulous in cleaning to maintain a tidy and hygienic workspace.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing.
- Understanding how to categorize, label, and store documents efficiently, both in physical filing systems and digital archives.
AD DITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Due to the nature of the position, the employee must be able to work outside the contractual working hours when required, within the criteria of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
- The employee is responsible for familiarizing themselves with the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) document provided by the company. It is the duty of the employee to ensure awareness of the associated risks and hazards of their positions. Any new risks or hazards identified during the conducting of their duties, which are not documented in the HIRA, must be promptly reported to the SHE Rep or SHEQ Department.
- The employee must maintain a valid medical certificate at all times, confirming their fitness to perform the duties associated with their role. Regular medical check-ups and assessments will be required to ensure ongoing compliance with this requirement.
