Assistant Management Accountant
Permanent (1 post)
The Assistant Management Accountant must have strong accounting and reporting skills and is responsible for the analysis and compilation of financial information obtained from internal systems into management accounts. The position manages, develops and controls, to ensure the integrity and timely provision of financial management and corporate reporting, including budgeting, forecasting specific projects.
Start date for appointment is the 1 February or 1 March 2025.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Prepare monthly and annual deferred and accrued income schedules. Draft monthly management accounts which include income statement, balance sheet and cashflow. Analysis and recommendations for improved performance in financial areas Research contracts and grants management (Project Management) Maintain active contracts and grants on an electronic database Monthly financial reporting preparation of funder financial reports Managing budgets and reporting in foreign and local currency Maintain relationships across senior levels Maintaining relationships with funders, sponsors and other relevant stakeholders Assist monthly / quarterly / annually with identification and management of cost reimbursement / advance paid contracts and grants to comply to general accounting practices. Assist with project related year end audits. Prepare financial data for quarterly and annual ENE treasury submissions such as income statement, balance sheet and cashflow.
Core Requirements:
3 year financial or management accounting degree or a 4 year financial or management accounting diploma. 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
Advantageous:
Experience having worked in Public Sector finance and budgeting would be advantageous Experience in Public Finance Management Act (PMFA) would be advantageous

A salary in the region of R 401 742 per annum, cost-to-company will be negotiated in consideration of experience and qualifications.
