Health and Safety Advisor
We are expanding our health and safety team and have opportunities for an health and safety professionals to join our bakeries in Dunstable. You will be providing valuable safety support throughout Signature Flatbreads and as part of the health and safety department ensuring effective management, so that we can successfully discharge our duties ensuring legal compliance.
Responsibilities
- Carryout site inspections, record findings and raise actions
- Conduct training sessions, including inductions and other safety related subjects
- Monitor outstanding actions and ensure they are completed
- Identify good practice and ensure it is communicated and adopted throughout all sites
- Provide advice, support and guidance on health and safety matters
- Liaise with supervisors and managers to ensure continual improvement
- Promote and assist in the development of the Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Conduct and report on audits throughout the sites
- Promote a positive safety culture
- Produce reports on site safety and health and safety activity
- Assist in the development and review of site safety documents, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and procedures
- Produce and deliver toolbox talks
- Investigate accidents and near misses and report on findings to include recommendations for improvements
- Assist with the development of systems and procedures to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards
About you
We are seeking driven individuals who are looking for a long-term career in safety. You must be able to work on your own initiative and in a team. You should have a good working knowledge of safety and ideally qualified to NEBOSH National General Certificate level. You should be computer literate, commercially aware and able to plan, organise and deliver projects.
