As a Senior Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS)Specialist, your role is key to driving improvements on-site and at a regionallevel. You’ll help your colleagues maintain high standards, all while drivinga culture of safety and inclusivity on your site. Key job responsibilities • Work with WHS to support RME linked to raising the bar on safety. • Help to develop paperwork systems linked to operational processes (riskassessments, SOPs) • Travel between the sites in your region to perform inspections and supporton programmes where required. • Develop SME knowledge linked to automation and machinery used within AMZL. • Support WHS and RME linked to building upgrades and changes linked to worksinvolving contractors and other programmes of work. • Support accident near miss investigations. • Manage your programmes, whilst regularly collaborating with other teams andstakeholders across the company • Use internal reporting tools to analyse data reports and root causes thatprovide leadership with the information they need to make safety relateddecisions • Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects andpolicies • Drive programmes to improve technical equipment specifications and designswithin Amazon • Above-average willingness to travel within the covered region A day in the life This is an extremely varied role, you will be based at one of the sites in theregion but will be required to travel weekly around the other sites whererequired. You will manage health and safety standards while improving functionality andefficiency. You’ll will work with WHS, supporting RME and sites to help themimplement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities tocontinuously make process improvements. Your role is instrumental in keeping employees safe, managing theirsatisfaction, and supervising their well being and productivity. You’ll stepin and take ownership of health and safety to foster a culture that revolvesaround operating safely. About the team Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) plays a crucial role in keeping our peoplementally and physically well at work. Our team works with managers, associatesand local governments across our sites, making sure we’re complying withAmazon’s policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe. There is a range of opportunities within the team, from Health and SafetyTechnicians to Programme Managers. No matter what your role is, you’ll play apart in developing, implementing and upholding our high safety and wellbeingstandards. You could work on a variety of projects alongside colleagues fromacross the business, ranging from equipment and process inspections toassessing processes, building and equipment design. Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnershipwith third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking andcontinuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products intothe hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ deliveryexperience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions forour newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants. There are two sides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ associates processmillions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through thenight. We focus mostly on operations, with 247 shifts in most of ourlocations.
