The Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs and Public Policy is a Dangerous Goods (DG) subject matter expert (SME) responsible for planning, coordinating and engaging with regulatory bodies and industry to influence DG regulations. This role leverages partnerships within North America (NA) and WW (world-wide) to improve, enhance, and innovate DG transport through the use of technology and data, using safety as the key driver to reduce the risk. In addition, this role works cross-functionally to transform internal Amazon processes through the use of continuous improvement and lessons learned to advance DG Operations (DG Ops), classification, training, selling partner education and outreach, and partnership with each of our carriers. Working in close coordination with the DG Ops and Amazon Classification teams, this role will assist in gaining additional operational efficiencies, including supporting business expansion/growth, through regulatory and strategic engagement with each of the regulatory bodies who oversee Amazon Fulfillment Network (AFN) and other businesses under the Amazon corporate umbrella. Responsibilities include working with each of the assigned business units to: 1) identify compliance risk areas (blind spots); 2) ingesting process improvements and assist in implementing mechanisms at scale to prevent additional risk; 3) collaboration to find resolution(s) using automation tech to enable compliance throughout the network; and, 4) strategically driving and the development of DG training to match high-speed fulfillment needs of the business.
Successful candidates will have the drive to work on the implementation of a cohesive and holistic DG engagement strategy. They will also have demonstrated strengths in leading and influencing cross-functional internal and external stakeholders with solid, data-driven logic, and use of safe, risked-based regulatory controls to enact change.

- Work with the WW DG Engagement Senior Manager, other DG SME's, and DG leadership to assist in the development and update of an annual engagement strategy, including implementation of the strategy;
- Regulatory oversight of existing and new Amazon operations, including opportunities to collaborate with regulators to improve network safety, growth, and expansion;
- Plan, maintain and engage as an active member of key global industry trade associations and non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs);
- Be active in understanding and involved with the key personnel, including the interworking's of international DG regulatory bodies of: UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe), CAA (Civil Aviation Administration), ADR (Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), IACO (International Civil Aviation Organization) & IMO (International Maritime Organization);
- Work with Amazon Public Policy, coordinating to ensure Amazon DG message of safety in transportation, yearly priorities, and partnership on risk-based approaches to DG regulations is presented to appropriate levels of government and regulatory bodies;
- Maintain and strengthen our global carrier relationships by working in partnership with Amazon's global transportation organization enabling collaboration in the decision-making process for safe transport of DG in all geographies where Amazon operates, and all ship modes (e.g., air, ground, sea).
This position requires domestic and international travel up to 30% of the time.

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field,
- Proven experience managing regulatory engagement and compliance programs,
- Demonstrated expertise in interpreting, applying, and influencing regulations to support business operations and growth,
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with stakeholders across multiple teams and geographies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
