Junior Bookkeeper
Our client, a reputable firm of Chartered Accountants, Registered Auditors, and Tax Practitioners, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team in Randburg. The ideal candidate will bring over 3 years of bookkeeping experience within an accounting environment, with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency. This role involves processing financial data, managing monthly payroll, VAT, and reconciliations, and maintaining up-to-date records for various clients. Ad hoc travel may be required to perform duties at client sites, with travel costs reimbursed.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper in an accounting environment.
- Proficiency in Sage Online, Pastel and SARS Efiling.
- Matric.
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.
- Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Process financial transactions from bank statements to trial balance.
- Manage monthly payroll processing.
- Handle monthly VAT calculations and processing.
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations.
- Manage SARS follow-ups and correspondence.
- Capture and submit returns on SARS eFiling.
- Travel to client sites when necessary to perform bookkeeping duties. (travel reimbursed)
- Work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.
