About the Job: Junior Bookkeeper
Responsibilities include managing the books for 2 companies and 2 trusts, with a focus on the following:
- Experience in Management accounts
- Processing monthly Payroll
- Preparation and submission of PAYE returns
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Completion of tax returns
- Regular communication with clients (telephonic and email)
- Preparation of annual financial statements and working paper files
- Forecasting
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric is essential plus tertiary qualification
- High level of competency in English (verbal and written)
- 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, with strong financial acumen and understanding
- Experience in a similar position is a distinct advantage
- Knowledge of accounting principles and VAT
- Understanding of e-filing
- Working knowledge of Pastel Evolution
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel intermediate level) and Pastel is essential
