A client is seeking an AWS Data Engineering Team Lead in either Cape Town or Gauteng as follows:
- AWS Cloud Architect for their AI / ML division, leading a team of 8 Data Scientists / Engineers.
- Implement strategies for the AI / ML Data Science / Engineering teams to deliver on business objectives.
- Responsible for the overall architecture of their AI / ML Data Models on AWS.
- Subject Matter Expert on all AI / ML projects, providing key insights and guidance.
- Manage AI / ML partnerships with key stakeholders and mentor/coach team members.
Skills Required:
- 8 to 10 years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Science, especially on the AWS tech stack.
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Team Lead, including experience with AI/ML Data Engineering teams.
- Solid experience in AI / ML Models, Frameworks, Algorithms, and Deep Learning on AWS.
- Some Project Management experience and Vendor Management experience is ideal.
- A Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field is required.
This is a permanent position with a hybrid work method (2 days a week in either Cape Town or Sandton).
If relocation to Cape Town or Gauteng is required, it will be included (at the client’s cost).
