Are you a seasoned accounting professional with a knack for meticulous financial management and strategic oversight?
This insurer is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant with either SAIPA or SAICA articles to join a growing team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Lead the consolidation of financial statements for the group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial reports and analysis.
- Collaborate with finance teams across various departments to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making at the executive level.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Evaluate and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline
- Successfully finished SAIPA or SAICA articles
- Firm grasp of accounting principles and regulations
- Competent in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and capability to work autonomously
