Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including wages, salaries, benefits, garnishee orders, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures correct processing of leave and employee benefits and the maintenance of personal files.
- Ensures that all financial capturing and processing is done in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensures accurate payroll updates, new employee engagement, terminations, job titles, and changes to pay rates.
- Monthly reconciliation and payment requests for 3rd party payments.
- Submission of month-end and GL Interface files to Finance Department.
- Monthly preparations of various EFT files.
- Ensures compliance with all industrial labor and tax regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, and internal controls.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Checking time sheets and the accuracy of pay computations.
- Ensuring all necessary documents and reports are processed on time.
- Weekly, monthly, and annual reporting to accounting and finance department.
- Leave management – payroll annual and month-to-month reconciliations.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications:
- Accounting or relevant Payroll qualification.
Skills:
- Proven minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in Payroll.
- Good solid knowledge and proof of experience on SAGE 300 People Payroll, wages, and salaried payroll experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office experience.
Package & Remuneration
Salary / Package:
R400K - R450K
