Our client is a medium sized national consulting engineering firm specializing in civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services, and project management and environmental consulting.
Job Description
You will be responsible for verifiable reinforced concrete and structural steelwork draughting in the built environment. You will need to have the following:
- Experience in the design of bulk water, wastewater treatment works, stormwater management and water retaining structures.
- Design of bridges and major culverts will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to structural design
- You will have understanding of the National Building Regulations and the requirements of the NHBRC
- Prior experience in training junior draughting staff, checking drawings prepared by junior staff for conformity with ISO standards and company templates/standards as well as being responsible for ensuring cross discipline drawings are coordinated
Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) is a requirement.
- N4/N5 Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice (MDDOP) National Certificate OR a Certificate of Competency from a Member College of The South African Institute of Draughting will be advantageous.
Skills
- 10 years verifiable reinforced concrete and structural steelwork draughting experience in the built environment
- Certificate of Completion in AutoDesk Revit Structures
- Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, in particular ACC Docs and ACC Build and Revit, will be advantageous.
- Must be an effective communicator, both written and verbal.
