Position Overview:
As a Product Technician, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing, installation, and servicing of various products. You will ensure that all products meet internal and external quality standards while working collaboratively with a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture products according to specifications and quality management systems.
- Install components in refuge chambers and sanitation solutions, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
- Assemble a variety of products efficiently, meeting assembly deadlines.
- Conduct thorough testing of installations both on-site and in the workshop.
- Set and achieve both short- and long-term goals related to production and service.
- Commission sites and provide servicing for refuge chambers as needed.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide customer support.
- Perform electrical work and install permanent refuge chambers as required.
- Assist with inventory management and stores work as necessary.
- Minimize downtime by promptly resolving issues and adhering to maintenance deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with onsite safety regulations and protocols.
- Generate accurate reports for clients and internal tracking.
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and sales teams to enhance service quality.
- Share knowledge and experiences to improve overall team performance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical or mechanical field.
- Matric or National Diploma in a relevant discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Attention to detail and strong relationship-building skills.
- Trade test certification as either an Electrician or a Millwright is required.
- Preferred experience in the mining industry.
- Medically and physically fit to operate in a manufacturing environment.
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability to handle on-site challenges.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Safe and efficient driving skills for on-site visits.
- Ability to understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
- A collaborative team player who works effectively with diverse colleagues.
- Registered to conduct Electrical Certificate.
