Job Description:
Performing site assessments to evaluate soil, rock, and groundwater conditions
Creating stable and safe designs for foundations, retaining walls, and earthworks
Providing expert guidance on soil mechanics and geotechnical principles, working with cross-functional teams
Conducting advanced geotechnical analysis using specialized software
Overseeing construction to meet geotechnical specifications
Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practices
Managing the implementation of geotechnical design solutions
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 to 10 years geotechnical engineering experience
Valid drivers licence
Strong communication skills and Interpersonal skills
Report writing proficiency
Knowledge of relevant legislation
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Independent and organized
Project management experience
Time management and deadline-focused
Knowledgeable in Department of Transport and SANRAL design methodologies, including TMH21 (DER)
Proven geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in consulting with construction supervision
Proficient in geotechnical software and modeling tools
Proficiency in geotechnical design and analysis per local and international codes
Qualification:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is an advantage
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
