Job Description
Reporting to the CEO, You will manage all aspects of the manufacturing site, with a strong focus on production management, measurement tools and disciplines.
- Monthly budget and expenditure control
- Manage inbound (freight clearing, forwarding and receipting) and outbound logistics (dispatch and distribution)
- Implement and work with warehouse management systems and tools Warehouse layout, stacking, barcoding and scanning, binning, traceability
- Full responsibility for inventory control and procedures (on site and off site) Cycle counting, month end stock counts and recons, consignment stock, Annual auditing (external), MRP
- Supplier contract negotiating (pricing, annual review, audits and evaluation)
- Quality system compliance (ISO 9000, FSSC 22000) and other certification bodies (FSC, PEFC, Fibre Circle, CGSO)
- Responsible for Health, Safety, Security, Fire and Risk
- Extensive production planning experience within a complex environment
- Must have a very good understanding of production and process flows
- Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical applications (maintenance, machines, projects)
- Manage all IT requirements and risks
- Responsible for on-site Administration functions (creditors, month end reporting, annual BBBEE/EE reports, annual budget, annual audit prep, BOMs, procedures and policies, Supplier SLAs)
- Sound knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, negotiating and dealing with Employee Unions
- Work closely and in tandem with the Factory Manager Production
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Production Management/Industrial Engineering /Operations Management.
- Business Management Degree/MDP/Diploma (added advantage)

- 15-20 years experience in a senior management role, managing all aspects of a manufacturing site.
