Overview:
Our client, a leading name in the swimming pool, spa, and pump industry is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their team. Established locally in South Africa, it is renowned for its exceptional product design, outstanding service, and reliable spare parts. The company offers a wide range of swimming pool cleaners and accessories, consistently delivering quality to its customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage internal sales operations, handling telephonic inquiries and processing walk-in customer orders in the absence of the Internal Sales Representative
- Conduct training sessions with customers both on-site and at their premises to ensure product understanding and effective usage
- Visit a pre-defined number of customers weekly, dedicating 90% of the time to fieldwork, meeting with existing and potential clients to explore new markets and opportunities
- Prepare and submit detailed weekly and monthly reports on customer visits and regional performance, including updates through Excel spreadsheets
- Represent the company at trade shows and exhibitions within the designated region, ensuring a professional presence
- Participate in occasional overnight business trips to remote areas (approximately every two months)
- Develop and implement basic plans and strategies aimed at driving growth and market expansion
- Close deals effectively and build strong, long-term business relationships, going beyond simple order-taking
- Demonstrate trustworthiness and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
