MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Agriculture with preference to Honors or Master's Degree in Agriculture (Agricultural Economics, Soil Science, Soil Chemistry, etc.)
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of practical commercial seed farming management experience
- Excellent knowledge of precision farming
- Excellent knowledge and experience of crop production (maize, sunflower, soybeans, etc.), farm management and agricultural sustainable challenges, with an emphasis on grain production, as well as an extensive knowledge of agricultural equipment and implementation and successful application of agricultural technology (Fieldview, Farmworks, JDLink, Agleader and others);
- Strong leadership qualities, and must be able to work very closely in a direct team with the rest of the farm
- Daily accurate record keeping and providing to Managing Director of general Operational, Technical and Economic activities in farming
- Good mechanical knowledge, daily inspections of all agricultural vehicles and equipment, the ability to immediately recognize mechanical problems and act preventively, in order to prevent further damage
- At all times the company's (employer's) best interests in relation to finances, general operational activities, effective and productive time use and pursuing loyalty
- Must be prepared to carry out implemented systems, established channels and related administration on a daily basis
- Professional and safe use of a wide variety of tools and equipment for vehicle, implement and equipment repair works
- Know and apply all operating equipment and vehicle manuals properly within 6 months
- Welding and fabrication skills for modifications and repairs
- Ability to accurately follow environmental and safety standards regarding toxins and their destruction
- Demonstrable capacity to adapt and thrive focused

- Valid Code EC vehicle license with a clean driving and criminal record
- Good computer skills
- Daily accurate figures and information provided to Financial Clerk and Managing Director
- Knowledge to implement new agricultural technology and biodiversity

- Effective and productive spending of time during duty hours in the operational activities of ONLY the employer
- Compliance with logistics rules and control around company vehicles
- Be prepared to work long hours in peak seasons

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Promote profitable crop production to ensure financial stability
- Planning, coordination, organization, co-execution and control of all company operations
- Agricultural vehicles and equipment, buildings/plots/fields/pasture, irrigation implementation and maintenance
- Technical manual skills, knowledge and experience of electric and hand tools
- Control and execution of all safety and health aspects of staff and visitors in terms of Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
- Promote Staff education, training and development
- Manage effective maintenance and utilization of all agricultural equipment
- Financial operational management of annual budget in accordance with instructions from Managing Director
- Effective leadership and farm staff management
- Agronomy / Research: Soil and plant health / environmental promotion and maintenance implementation
- Ability to function independently with respect to time schedules and objectives.
