QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Grade 12/Matric or equivalent qualification.
Bachelors Degree
Drivers Licence.
Minimum 2 Years industry experience in technical administration.
Practical/Technical and Manufacturing experience.
Newton Mechanic Calculation
FEA 2-year Experience
Fatigue and Welding Design
Failure analysis and investigations
Experience with ISO certification.
Experience with Hydraulic Schematics
Computer Literate (Microsoft Office)
Bill of Material:
Create/Design/Modify/Edit/update/Maintain of Bill of materials and routings where applicable.
Create exploded views of Bill of Materials
Bill of material corrections and change management if necessary.
Interface with Navision to verify integrity.
Allocate part numbers to parts created.
Keep track of BOMs via the drawing register.Scopes (New Machines):
Partake in the formulation and creation of machine scopes alongside technical and sales.
Manage and control changes to scopes, where applicable.
Liaise with external customers regarding drawing queries and scopes. Design, Technical Documentation, Drawings and GAs:
Utilise knowledge in structures, materials, and advanced engineering methods to perform design functions where required.
Research any technical related query relating to design specific topics to contribute toward a solution.
Creating and updating weldments/assemblies.
Backdraft any required parts or samples.
Ensure weldment and assembly drawings are all up to date and to drawing standard.
Ensure dimensional changes are made when required and drawings are redistributed internally.
Ensure updates to drawings follow the change management process.
Ensure all assembly exploded views are up to date for parts manuals, quality and production.
Ensure all design projects follow the RTD system and projects are logged with numbers issued.
File all relevant technical documentation on the server in the correct format and location.
File and archive all relevant technical documentation for future use. Engineering Support:
Assisting all departments/Branches with specialized insight into Newton mechanics and FEA analysis.
Assisting all departments/Branches with failure investigations and recommendations for field modifications.
Assisting and handling of technical queries internal to GHHMM where required.
Assisting and handling of design modifications to improve structural integrity.
Participate in the design review process for structural performance and welding.
Check and sign drawings where applicable. Research and Development:
Assisting with design concepts relating to new machine development.
Develop and create a working bill of material for parts manuals where necessary.
Control and manage of changes and updates to machines via kinematic studies, ergonomic studies, calculations, FEA and design principals.
Ensure all technical documentation is archived where applicable and system is up to date with technical specifications of OEM parts wherenecessary.
Research and develop Market feasibility studies pertaining to Technical requirements on new machine developments.
Facilitate Testing with regard to FOPS/ROPS and Brake certifications where necessary.
Conceptual designs studies relating to new machine development. Training and Development:
Continuously develop and maintain yourself to keep abreast with new technology and developments in your line of duty within the Personal Development Plan, discussed and approved with your direct supervisor/manager.
To identify training requirements which contribute to the growth and development of their department or within their role.
Make recommendations on the desirability, format of content used in daily job functions such as RTD (Request to Draft), RTI (Request to Investigate), RTW (Request to Write) forms or drawing standards and scopes.
