Senior Project Manager (Engineering & Construction) - Umhlanga Office
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage complex, multi-disciplinary building projects from inception to completion, leading diverse technical teams
- Execute building projects successfully by meeting stakeholder expectations, maintaining commercial excellence, achieving quality outputs and driving team cohesion and satisfaction.
- Execute cross border building projects & manage cross border teams.
- Budgetary and financial responsibility for building projects.
- Project tendering and preparation.
- Project resource management, including management of project resources over multiple locations.
- Client relationship management during project execution.
- Business development and client liaison at project level.
- Growing market position within new and existing client groups through quality project execution.
- Engage clients, determining their needs, qualify opportunities, developing custom solutions and compiling proposal documents.
- Negotiating and concluding new assignments with Clients.
- Developing, reviewing and executing project contract documents.
- Contribute to strategic growth of the Industry Advisory Group Project Management Team.
- Other project and operational support as required.
Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:
- Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering/Architecture Degree.
- Post Graduate Project Management Qualification is beneficial.
- A minimum of 8 years post graduate experience managing multi-disciplinary building projects as a consultant and preferably in the private sector.
- Professional registration with a relevant body (SACPCMP / PMI / ECSA / SACAP) is required.
- Demonstrable experience on multidisciplinary design coordination, preferably on industrial / data centre building projects.
- Fundamental knowledge and experience in greenfield and brownfield industrial building / data centre building projects.
- Good understanding of industry practices, trends, processes and standards as well as their impact on project activities.
- Ability to liaise with relevant stakeholders on all levels and through-out the life cycle of the project.
- Commercial/design/project management competencies/experience, comfortable with playing central role in both project acquisition, design and execution, with excellent communication skills.
- Practical management experience having led a project team.
- Competent report writing skills and excellent communication ability.
- Computer literacy in MS Office and Project, Common Data Environments & other platforms at an advanced level i.e. ACC, ASITE, Revizto, etc.
- Consulting background/knowledge/skills.
