Are you someone who can:
- Prepare and report on the Insurance Pillar operations and financial conditions monthly – this includes preparing the flash and CEO reports.
- Gain exposure to the budget process and prepare the Insurance Pillar budget presentation.
- Prepare the annual financial statement analysis booklet for the insurance entities within the Group.
- Prepare the financial statements for the insurance entities – this involves updating memorandums for audit, following up with different finance teams on the AFS workings, liaising with Internal and External auditors when required.
- Utilize Essbase and HFM to source financial information for recording and analysis.
- Approve invoices.
- Partner with stakeholders in the provision of financial insights and guidance into the operational and general.
- Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback, and request training where appropriate.
- Participate and contribute to a development culture where information regarding successes, issues, trends, and ideas are actively shared.
- Deliver monthly presentations to stakeholders.
- Handle adhoc finance requests.
You will be an ideal candidate if you have:
- Technically strong, demonstrating attention to detail, especially when it comes to IFRS.
- CA(SA) is non-negotiable.
- 1-2 or more years of experience in a similar environment.
- Exposure to the life insurance sector is advantageous.
- IFRS17 understanding or exposure is highly advantageous.
- Essbase working experience is advantageous.
- HFM working experience is advantageous.
- Confident and comfortable giving specialized advice on technical matters.
- Articulate in speech and in written English when expressing opinions.
- An excellent and thorough researcher.
