SGS Matrolab is seeking to fulfil key roles as Civil Engineering Senior Site Laboratory Managers. The role requires the incumbent to manage a site laboratory. He/She will be responsible for all laboratory related tasks, on site laboratory tasks, implementation, maintenance and improvement of our quality systems. To ensure that the laboratory functions smoothly, with excellent quality of service, saving manpower cost, contributing to accuracy, productivity and profitability. To ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly. To ensure materials testing is completed in all laboratory divisions, including soils, asphalt, seals, concrete, aggregate with bench calculation as and when required for testing. The Senior Site Laboratory Manager will ensure that the laboratory is clean at all times and will carry out all work-related instructions from the authorized personnel.

Job Description Primary Job Responsibilities
- Reporting to the relevant Regional Manager and are expected to:
- Responsible for Laboratory Management production planning on site and meeting deadlines.
- Liaise with clients and relevant regional manager.
- Ensure reporting is correct before signing and distribution.
- Implementation of quality control systems and Health and Safety regulations in and around the laboratory.
- Manage multi-disciplinary site laboratory including Soils, Concrete, asphalt, Seals, and Aggregates.
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
- Assist the technicians with any job whether it is on site or inside the laboratory as per instruction from the authorized site supervisor/laboratory manager.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the authorized site supervisor/laboratory manager and regional manager.
- Follow all SGS policies and procedures on site including but not limited to payroll, leave, and disciplinary procedure.
- Provide training for all staff as training needs are identified.
- Ensure all SGS mandatory (OI Toolbox/ Annual Integrity / Social Media etc) training is done as and when required.
- Send all timesheets, claim forms and payroll instructions to the relevant departments timeously.
Qualifications Education: Relevant national Diploma / NQF 6 OR Grade 12 / NQF4
Experience: Drivers License, Relevant National Diploma and ten years relevant experience or NQF 6 and ten years relevant experience. OR Grade 12 and ten years relevant experience or NQF4 and fifteen years relevant experience with a drivers license.
