Our client is a telecommunications service provider, a cloud-based software solutions company offering voice and connectivity, SD-WAN, cloud and hosting solutions.
This Senior Voice Infrastructure Engineer position is about delivering (develop, deploy, ensure uptime, maintain, optimise and evolute) voice and billing solutions.
Duties Include:
- Install, optimize, troubleshoot, fault finding and analysis on voice and billing infrastructure
- Handle escalations from internal teams (Installation Team, Support Team)
- P&L Responsibility: Liaise with vendors of equipment and software (cost saving via vendor market evaluation, billing clients, and using cost effective routes)
- Develop technical documentation and reports
- Training & development of internal staff
- Network capacity planning, routing & switching, etc.
Requirements: - 8 - 10 years VoIP engineering experience (in a Service Provider environment)
- 8 – 10 years in Linux OS
- SQL database experience
- Routers and switches – Preferably Juniper (in a Service Provider environment) with routing protocols and technologies (eg; MPLS/BGP)
Preferred Experience: - Broadworks suite experience
- Oracle SBC’s (Session Border Controllers)
- Scripting: Perl / Python
- Fortigate firewalls
- Yealink handsets
Education & Certificates: - Minimum NQF 7 (Diploma) in IT
- Relevant Certificates: A+, N+, CISCO Certifications
