Purpose of the job
Implement the Sourcing strategy within the framework of the Business Group strategy, aligning this to Pep’s value position while driving fashion / market trends and newness.
Builds relationships with suppliers, through negotiating cost and developing agreements to deliver products that exceed customer expectations of quality and value.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the process to deliver to the business supplier sourcing strategy.
- Maximise added value and cost savings and deliver to the consolidation strategy.
- Engage and further develop the supplier base to deliver to the sourcing and business strategy.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to meet required standards.
- Execute all administration relating to the procurement process to ensure on-time delivery as per the critical path dates/deadlines.
- Effectively communicate and follow-up internally.
- Communicate and follow-up effectively with all relevant external role players/key relationships.
- Continuously update all systems with the required information and provide end to end visibility.
- Manage strict deadlines, from orders placed to delivery.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by Leader.
Requirements
- Relevant Degree or Diploma (e.g. Clothing Production Management).
- Computer Literacy (MS Office and Google Suite).
- Fabric and garment construction understanding.
- Understand key sourcing inputs/resources (including raw materials) in supplier negotiation.
- Able to analyse and interpret data and make recommendations.
- Knowledge of compliance and legislation applicable to the manufacturing environment.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Code 8 driver’s licence required.
- Position is Cape Town based.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience:
• Clothing background (manufacturing)
• Local and Imports exposure in a retail or manufacturing environment.
• Clear understanding of the buying cycle.
• Exposure to Factory production would be ideal.
• Experience in working with onshore and offshore suppliers.
