Key Responsibilities for the Senior Project Manager will entail the following:
- Lead and manage large-scale projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and strategic objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
- Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to project team members.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to apply innovative solutions to project management challenges.
- Be willing to travel beyond Johannesburg.
The Successful Applicant:
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of managing complex projects successfully.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
- Strong project management skills, with experience using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing project risks.
- Experience in the IT sector with knowledge and background in agriculture.
