To ensure that equipment is delivered and proactively maintained in good working order, fully functional and free from any damages that might cause harm, therefore safe to operate as defined by MEWP standards.

5. JOB DESCRIPTION
The Field Services Technician is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Planning daily travel schedule
- Investigating complaints, conducting tests and resolving general maintenance tasks
- Off-load machine, perform PDI (Post Delivery Inspection) together with the customers and record any damages and/or snags, including proper mine specifications
- Provide Certification to operators upon successful completion of MEWP Operators Training
- Complete a full Functional test whilst training any appointed operator
- Maintain MEWP equipment operational by completing regular inspections and functional procedures as defined from time to time and complete preventive maintenance tasks, correcting equipment deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments, check and maintain mine specifications if required
- Determine equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts and reporting as may be required
- Keep equipment available for use by monitoring and completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing components, parts, oil, water and upgrades when required and control corrosion
- Verify equipment performance by conducting predefined functional tests, adjusting controls and systems
- Keep record of completed jobs, conforming with MEWP standards and equipment requirements by ensuring up-to-date documentation are available upon request
- Keep operational tools and spares for troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance and for calling-in repairs
- Standby and call-out as and when required
- Monthly vehicle stock-take
- Keep standard stock quantities in vehicle
- Place required stock orders, verify receipt and track backorders
6. SKILLS REQUIRED – SPECIFIC
- Technical Skills
- Technical minded as well as Customer service orientated with a recognised technical qualification, preferably a red seal millwright
- Knowledge of MEWP equipment regarding operations, functions, technical functions, parts and tools including a comprehensive understanding of hydraulics, engine mechanics, electrical, electronics and technical schematics.
- Clear understanding of safety management and risk assessment
- Mechanical, hydraulic, electric and electronic tooling knowledge
- Knowledge of mechanical inspections, tools and analysers
Administration and Technology - Understanding and intensive use of sms, mms, internet and cellular communications
