Introduction
This position requires a variety of specialised skills and applied patience. The candidate is required to support multiple, different, and forever changing environments. Excellent communication (both verbally and written), empathy, and the ability to manage expectations effectively are sought after characteristics. This function is 'fast paced' and often measured on the ability of an individual to work within a growing team of varied skill sets. A successful candidate will be well versed in the O365 Microsoft suite, however, in transition of Technology a fair knowledge of Third-party applications.
Responsibilities
- Manage in-house software ORV/LMS
- Understanding of Basic SQL and application of DB concepts and best practices.
- Proficiency with TSQL.
- Assisting with the installation of Hardware (Label Printers and scales) as required.
- Assisting with User training, guidance, and support to resolve issues.
- Supporting the roll-out of new applications.
- Level 1 Support.
- Maintaining Ticket SLA.
- Testing and providing feedback on new system enhancements.
- Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
- Maintaining Master Data.
- Working Stand-by after hours and weekends.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric or NQF equivalent.
- Degree/Diploma/Certification in Information Technology or related studies preferable.
- 1–3 years working experience in IT helpdesk environment.
- SQL Knowledge.
- Exposure to a logistics/retail working environment would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of remote software (RDP, TeamViewer etc.).
- Driver’s license and own car.
- Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Customer service orientated.
- Strong team player, with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage End User frustrations effectively.
- Quickly able to learn, leverage and incorporate new technology and methodologies on own initiative.
