We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager (Audit) to join our Finance team, focusing on leading and managing the audit and financial statement processes. You will be the first point of contact for external auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
The Finance Manager will also take on broader responsibilities within the Financial Reporting team, making this role ideal for someone with a background in audit practice and a desire to step into a dynamic, high-impact position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and agreeing timetables for all audit and financial statement processes, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
- Managing and actively reviewing the audit process, addressing any concerns and ensuring high-quality audit responses.
- Acting as the first point of contact for external auditors, ensuring a smooth and effective relationship.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international accounting standards.
- Managing a team of 2-3 direct reports, supporting them in audit, financial statements, and additional tasks such as balance sheet reconciliations and pension payovers.
- Conducting post-audit reviews to assess performance and implement process improvements where necessary.
- Taking on additional tasks within the Financial Reporting team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant, ideally ACA.
- Previous experience in an audit practice, preferably at the manager level or senior associate.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current international accounting standards and upcoming changes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage with colleagues across all levels.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Previous experience in an industry role, in addition to experience preparing financial statements and managing a team, would be advantageous but not essential.
