The Accounts Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Operations department, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. By handling key accounting and administrative tasks, this role enables the COO to focus on strategic initiatives and driving operational efficiency across the business.
The Accounts Assistant is essential in maintaining the clients' high standards of accuracy, compliance, and financial organisation, ensuring that our operations run as efficiently as possible.
Although the position may be remote, it is vital that the Accounts Assistant works closely with the broader Operations team and Cape Town-based roles, contributing to team morale, celebrating achievements, and helping to resolve challenges. It's a great opportunity for detail-oriented, motivated, and highly organised individuals.
Responsibilities
- Matching, checking and coding invoices
- Data entry of invoices on Financial software system
- Filing invoices electronically
- Supplier payments
- Processing internal expenses
- Support in maintaining purchase ledger & sales ledger
- Credit Control
- Posting bank transactions
- Cover for the Lettings Accountant, matching incoming payments and processing landlord/supplier payments
- General administrative tasks
Requirements
- 1-2 years experience in a similar Accounts Assistant/Assistant role
- Experience in the Hospitality / Lettings industry advantageous
- Good Excel Skills
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail essential
- Ability to work to strict deadlines.
Location: Cape Town
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Hours: 2 days a week or 4 half days a week
