Maintenance Manager

Our client in the Agricultural sector is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their team in Swellendam, Western Cape.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize, schedule and oversee maintenance duties according to best practices.
- Regular communication with General Managers regarding requirements, planning and progress.
- Increase the operational effectiveness, equipment availability and life cycle cost of machinery and equipment through preventative maintenance.
- Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and checklists for operators.
- Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities.
- Ensure that machinery and/or equipment are fit for purpose and provide proactive support/solutions when required.
- Attend meetings and action/communicate instructions.
- Produce written reports to the General Manager in terms of maintenance actions and costs.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Provide technical expertise to the team.
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing maintenance team that meets agreed objectives, delivering best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
- Perform minor maintenance work, including maintenance and repair of machinery, other mechanical equipment, gates, etc.
- Procurement of equipment and machinery according to company protocols.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12/Matric.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years proven experience in the maintenance and mechanical industry.
