Overview:
We are seeking a resilient and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage maintenance operations in a challenging marine shipping environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems, processes, and operational management, preferably with consulting experience. This role requires a leader capable of maintaining equipment, ensuring safety, and optimizing performance under demanding conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Operations Management
- Oversee all maintenance activities, ensuring the operational readiness and safety of all marine vessels and equipment.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures, and standards to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and minimal disruption due to maintenance activities.
- Manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting, procurement, and cost control.
Systems and Processes
- Evaluate, design, and implement robust maintenance systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Utilize consulting experience to recommend and integrate best practices in maintenance management.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager in a marine or similarly challenging environment or in the mining or oil and gas industry is an added advantage.
- Strong background in systems, processes, and operational management.
- Consulting experience in maintenance management or a related field preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- This role involves working in a marine environment, requiring resilience and adaptability.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- You must be willing to relocate and work in Papua New Guinea.
- This is a contract position.
